Who We Are
AMP Companies is comprised of AMP Electrical Services and AMP Mechanical Services. We perform Mechanical and Electrical contracting throughout Illinois. From small service and residential jobs to the largest of projects, we have the knowledge and experience to accomplish the task at hand. AMP Electrical Services was founded in 2013 by Gavin Phillips, Josh Moews, and Justin Howland. The various electrical experience and backgrounds of the owners and employees allow us to tackle any project no matter how complex. In January of 2017 AMP started offering Plumbing/Mechanical Services allowing us to enter a new field in the construction industry.
Justin Howland
Justin Howland is the president of AMP Companies, a company he co-founded in 2014. Originally from Pekin, Justin started on his educational journey in 2004, attending Illinois Central College. In 2006 he was accepted into the IBEW apprenticeship and completed the 5-year apprenticeship program. He is proud to be a member of IBEW Local # 34.
Throughout his career, Justin has shown exceptional project management skills, overseeing a range of projects in diverse settings such as chemical plants, commercial establishments, and factories.
Justin possesses several certifications, including a Master Electrical Contractor's License obtained in 2013, as well as High Voltage Splicing. His professional specialties include Motor/Process Control and installations in hazardous locations.
Justin has been happily married to Cindy since 2012, and together they are the proud parents of two children, McKenzie (4) and Isabelle (2). Justin enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing during his time not spent at work.

Gavin Phillips, Treasurer
Gavin Phillips helped start AMP back in 2013 and now serves as Treasurer.
Gavin started in 1997 as a NJATC Electrical Journeyman and has 23 years of project management experience prior to AMP (Power Generation, Wastewater, Commercial)
When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, granddaughter, and great nieces. He also enjoys playing golf and cards and watching sports.

Jason Koening
Since November 2019, Jason has been an integral part of AMP, fulfilling the role of Electrical Project Manager and Estimator for the Peoria/Pekin areas. Jason is originally from Trivoli, IL and he wasted no time in joining the electrical union right after his high school graduation.
Prior to this, he dedicated five years to an electrical apprenticeship immediately after completing high school. He has also furthered his education by attending DeltaV School. Jason is a proud member of the IBEW Local 34 Union. With proficiency in motor controls and instrumentation, he consistently delivers high-quality work.
In his personal life, Jason has been happily married to Christie since 2001 and they are blessed with four children: three daughters, Chesney, Preslie, and Kennedy, and a son named Cash. Beyond his professional commitments, he enjoys coaching travel softball and JFL football, as well as raising cattle.
We feel fortunate to have Jason as a member of our team. His extensive experience and dedication to his profession greatly contributes to the success of our company.

Jay Feely is the Plumbing/Mechanical Service Manager and Estimator at AMP. From Galesburg he furthered his education at Sandburg College and successfully completed a 5-year UA Plumbing apprenticeship. Jay's professional journey began in 1999 as a plumber/pipefitter.
In his career, Jay has excelled in project management, overseeing projects since 2003. He is known for providing exceptional service and solutions to clients.
Joining AMP in 2017, Jay is a proud member of the Local 25 union. He holds various licenses and certifications including both Illinois and Iowa Plumbing Licenses, Iowa Hydronic License, Illinois Backflow Certification, Med-gas Certification, and Welding Certification, all showcasing his expertise and experience.
Jay is happily married and has a wonderful family of 6 children, including 5 daughters and 1 son. In his down time, he enjoys activities such as ice fishing, gardening, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Brian DeJaynes
Brian DeJaynes is a highly skilled HVAC Service Manager and Estimator with almost 30 years in the industry. Prior to joining our company, he gained valuable expertise working at his family-owned HVAC company in Abingdon. Brian's educational background includes studies at Illinois Central College.
He joined our team at AMP Companies in May of 2018, bringing a strong skill set and dedication to providing exceptional service to our clients. Brian is proud to be a member of the Local 25 union, demonstrating his commitment to professionalism and industry standards.
Outside of work, he enjoys activities such as golfing, fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with his wife and daughter.

Paul O'Dear
Paul O'Dear serves as the Electrical Service Manager and Estimator for Galesburg and its surrounding areas. Originally from Fiatt, Il, Paul brings a wealth of experience as a journeyman wireman, having started on his professional journey in 1999.
His training and education were acquired at Alliance, formerly known as NJACT and he joined our team at AMP in 2018. Additionally, Paul is a proud member of the IBEW Local 34 union.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys woodworking and golf.
